Our Story

BÉNIE began in loving memory of my mother, Isabelle.

She was French, an aesthetician trained in Paris, deeply spiritual, and effortlessly elegant. She believed that caring for the skin was never just about beauty—it was about presence, intention, and honoring the body. She taught me the value of ritual early on: rest without guilt, skincare as devotion, mental health days, long naps, travel, and savoring the finer things in life—while remaining the most genuine, generous, and down-to-earth person I have ever known.

When I became a mother myself, I stepped fully into the most sacred role of my life. But in the exhaustion of early motherhood—and later, in the devastation of losing my own mother unexpectedly—those rituals became my refuge. Long showers turned into moments of prayer. Simple routines became a way back to myself. These quiet acts of care felt holy.

I wanted to create something in her honor—something that carried her spirit forward. When the name BÉNIE came to me—French, feminine for “blessed”—it felt undeniable. Even in grief, I was surrounded by grace.

As the brand took shape, I searched for an image that captured what she embodied. That search led me to Saint Isabelle of France. Her likeness became the inspiration for our logo—a quiet, reverent symbol woven into the brand. Her feast day, I later discovered, falls on my mother’s birthday, February 26th. My mother always said there were no coincidences.
